Home Adaptation Services – Maintenance.
Not quite ready to make this transition, no problem. At Appledale Inc. New Beginnings, we a fully equipped to complete any repairs or maintenance to your home to allow you to stay in your property a little bit longer. These repairs include:
- Adding any safety grab bars in bathrooms or hallways
- Adding extra railings around your deck / front steps or rear of the property
- Adding any specialty chair lifts on staircases as needed
- Complete washroom revisions, including bathtub cut outs to make showers areas a walk in
- Completing annual smoke and CO detector
- maintenance, including testing and replacement of existing units or batteries as needed
- Eavestrough cleanout, fall / spring cleanup as needed
- Grass cutting/ snow maintenance
- Adding of ramps and walkways as needed
- Complete wheelchair accessibility repairs – includes meeting with your occupational therapist or PSW on review the scope of work and your special requests
Transition from your current home:
Our in-house Specialists are fully trained and certified to handle the transition of seniors. Some of these services include offering full moving services, which may entail storing select valuables, or furnishings.
- moving services, packing, and unpacking services
- storage of items as requested by homeowner (if required)
- subscription cancellation or redirection of mail
- assistance in locating of important documents (i.e., financial paperwork, wallet, identification, cash hidden) within your home is available
- property exterior maintenance (snow cleaning or grass cutting) and doing daily or weekly checks of the property until your home is finally sold
- wellness checks
- redirection of your utility accounts for your family
- assist in having your content appraised, if you wish to proceed with sale process, consignment, or donations
- housekeeping services until sale of home is completed
Transition to your “new” residence:
Starting with the move to your new residence, at the time of the packing up – sometimes things are forgotten – we offer a full search process to assist you in finding “lost” items.
- unpacking of your items once moved into your new space, including setup of your room, and delivery of items
- delivery / transportation and moving of items to storage unit
- arrange for rental equipment delivery, including communications or television rental equipment, equipment for mobility (if required and requested)
- wellness checks to make sure you are settling into your new space without any hiccups
- Entertainment/ Communications setup package, including professional setup of television as required.
Estate Management Assistance:
At New Beginnings, we will make this transition as simple as possible for your grieving family. We follow your wish and assist in the estate management of your file.
- Removal of items from your residence, transport and dispersing to family or parties as requested, donation of items, arranged for sale of items
- Cancellation of entertainment or communication packages / subscriptions
- Return of rental equipment as required
- Cleanout of residence to hand back to retirement facility
- We follow your requests – dealing with your executor or trustee
- Any other special requests of yourself on services requested prior from yourself or your family
- Delivery of clothing to funeral home, or special items for final services
